on this topic. I'd also like to add that I don't think
any relationship, no matter how compatible you are, comes easy. little things
will annoy you, and everybody has flaws. it's being able to yell and throw things at each other but then talk it out and compromise that makes a relationship last.
I think a lot of people do put too much hope in fairytales and let petty tiffs separate them. I'd blame that for the high divorce rates more than anything.
there was a line in an Anne Sexton poem that kind of sparked this line of thought.
"Cinderella and the prince
lived, they say, happily ever after,
like two dolls in a museum case
never bothered by diapers or dust,
never arguing over the timing of an egg,
never telling the same story twice,
never getting a middle-aged spread,
their darling smiles pasted on for eternity."
