 Mental VS The Mentalist

I only watched one episode so far of the Mental, but my mind couldnt get over the dramatic similarities between the mental and The Mentalist. Sure its not uncommon for shows to have the same idea, like2-10 different courtroom shows, or a bunch of er/ hospital shows, but they at least tend to have their own "flavor".The "Mental" seems to me like its the same writers double dipping for an extra paycheck
