Good news for all you cartoon lovers with fancy-pants television sets. Fox has announced that
The Simpsons is finally making the technological leap to high definition next month, starting with the episode "Take My Life, Please." This follows recent news that
South Park will also bump to HD next season.
The Simpsons and other cartoons have largely ignored the leap to crystal-clear resolution despite the fact that most of their live-action counterparts made the jump years ago.
The Simpsons Movie, however, was available in HD and anyone who saw it in that format can tell you that it looked incredible.
Earlier this month, the boys from
South Park announced that their series would also be going HD at the beginning of the next season, sometime in March.
South Park too has been shown in HD before thanks to freebie version of "Good Times With Weapons" distributed on Xbox Live for the Xbox 360 in 2007.
