My first tattoo is going to be....

one of Calvin and Hobbes!

Yep, I'm taking the plunge. For a while I was nervous about getting a tattoo (what if I don't like it in 5 years? I'll never have my original body back!) But I decided that I should get one to remind myself that my body is only temporal and that its not the most important thing in the world. So what if my body isn't perfect?

I chose calvin and hobbes because when I was younger I loved reading them. They made me laugh like nothing else, and Bill Watterson has such a great sense of humor and creativity. The tattoo will mean alot to me, reminding me of the great bond between friends, and humans and animals. Its also kind of reminding me of the friend I had in Calvin.

So anyway, I need you guys to help me choose which one.

P.S. There will also be no background. No sky or trees in the distance. The one exception is of the picture where they are up against a tree.

Where are you getting it?

I'm still not sure! I was thinking either shoulder, upper thigh/legs or my side.

Its going to be in color, no matter what one I choose.

Having just done my upper arm, I would recommend that, it's painful, but not TOO bad. Also you can easily hide it underneath a tee shirt if you're in a situation where you don't want it seen and it just plain looks good.

That, and, I've heard the thighs and sides hurt like fuck. So. And yeah, color is good. I'm sticking with B or C. Both will look sweet.

I would go for Image D.

I like B and C best. -- just because it reminds me of the calvin and hobbes strips I liked most.

A is the best.

Pain isn't an issue for me. I mean, I might be cursing my decision while I get it done, but I want to choose the best place for it. Plus, my friend is doing it...and he'll be able to stop and pick it up if I get too uncomfortable.

That being said, I'm kinda leaning towards one of my sides....

D is the greatest. because I think it best symbolizes the idea of friendship and truly enjoying life. what's more carefree than laughter?

oh, and I kind of like the idea of no color. simplicity.

The only thing I have against D is that it might not look as awesome as a tattoo. Sometimes down the road the tattoo inc bleeds a bit.

why would that not matter with the other designs?

I just feel like since his face is right on the belly it might blend in. It's mostly just the location of things and such, nothing else.

Good call. Yeah, the sides look cool. I still recommend the upper arm. Also, how big are you getting it?

I don't like upper-arm tattoos. plus, you never listen to tyler.

Thats true,...so maybe I should carry on my tradition of not listening to him...

Nah, the real reason I'm not so sure about my shoulder/upper arms is because I kinda want to reserve those places for "pretty" tattoos. I mean, this one is going to be awesome and cute and amazing, but I have other ideas for floral, and really gorgeous ones that I'd like to put in places where they are easily seen.


I curse my indesiciveness. I still don't know which one to get.

placement: lower stomach between your hips. How awesome would that be? It'd be like a mini comic strip.

I don't know about doing all of them, but that actually sounds like really cute placement yvonne.
