I just got done with my 20 minute walk back from my 7:30 am final and the temperature is -4 degrees with a -18 degree windchill

went to union square to by like ten jars of some insane cherry jam that my sister is obsessed with but she paid me to do it so whatev... and then i walked around the holiday shops with some friends
then i came home and slept until 12 and helped my roommate with a huge presentation
and then slept a little more and then got woken up by my friend devan at my bed with an adorrrrable boy who goes to boston college who is visiting her and i was a little disappointed that i had been sleeping/looked groggy/awk but we all talked for like thirty minutes and now i'm here awake and i should be asleep but i am no longer tired!

Ahhh! Kirsty, you saw Etsy sellers! And met Amy Sedaris!! So lucky. I need to move to New York.

Anyway, I woke up later than I should have. Washed my face, did my makeup, put on lotion, and now I'm on the computer. I'm going to go to the campus library to study today, right after I eat some breakfast. Then after that I have to work tonight, ugh.

Hmm...I called in to work cuz my throat/head hurt and my nose is all stuffed up. Nasty. And it's 1:00 and I just got up. That is my day so far...

yasmin has not had a good past two days. basically the negative highlights are as follows.

one of my favoritest work buddies, my spark of hope in that awful place, says we shouldn't hug anymore because he has a girlfriend now. um, first of all what the fuck? and second, hugs are part of my nature. it's the whole package or it's nothing at all. I ignored him for the rest of the night. I'm not going to give the whole rant because I've already done that and because you guys probably don't care all that much, but it super pissed me off and disappointed me majorly. one of my top annoyances with this world is how you can no longer just have a platonic relationship and that be okay. but anyway, what the fuck ever. my ray of sunshine is no more.

then today I found out that I got a 75 on my government presentation, keeping my grade right at that lovely 79 I was trying to raise. it's a complete outrage, as I understood the entire chapter and explained it clearly to the class. he just dislikes me and the grade is so subjective. I'm going to fight it tomorrow, but I don't know that I even have a chance. and this is the closest that I've been to having straight As since I can't even remember when. woo.

another major event is that I'm now going to get over mr. d by pointing out his every flaw. I haven't been able to find many but I'll keep looking until I can't stand him anymore. because I've found teacher crushes to be unbearable.

i just had a pretty decent night

woke up, brought my roommate breakfast because she was moving out, helped her move out (sat in her dad's yukon to make sure it didn't get towed because it was illegally parked) while they carried stuff up and down the elevator and to the car, said roommate LEFT FOR GOOD hallelujah lol, then i took a nap and helped my other roommates rearrange the apartment. it's way better now even though her huge flatscreen is gone. we can deal.

then i ate some dumplings!

then i went to brooklyn to see of montreal! since my best friend devan is now friends with one of the guitarists, i got on the guest list and it just felt cool when they were like "which band's guest list are you on?" and i was like "of montreal" haha idk it just felt cool even though it's not that big of deal. and thennnn i saw of montreal! and they are so crazy live, so dancy and wild and... sexual! and they painted each other (and people in the front aka me with red paint) after the show devan and i were standing outside and the drummer came up and started talking to us because he recognized us from earlier in the day and we talked and it turns out he's going to live in brooklyn for a little while and he gave us a free cd (of his personal music) and his contact information and he wants to hang out! and then we talked to the rest of the band and bp and he was so precious and sweet. ahhh and then i was so cold because it was raining and snowing a little and i was wearing a jacket and not a coat and flats not warm shoes so we hurried to the subway and then got on and talked to some other people who had been at the show. i love brooklyn! everyone there is just so funny and it's like a huge community that's so welcoming.

and now i have to sleep

Hung out with my friend James tonight... it went like this.

About midnight we decide to go to In-n-Out. Routine stuff. Then we decide to go for a drive. We end up on the top of this hill that over looks the whole town. We're sitting up there, engaging in philosophical and political banter, when two cop cars drive up and shine their lights into the car.

Two cops get out, demand to see our hands...
Satisfied with that, they proceed to shine lights in our eyes.

"What are you two doing up here this late? Smoking...WEED?"

"No, sir."

"Then your eyes are always this red?"

"Um, yeah?"

"So you're not smoking weed?"

"No. You're welcome to search us, or the car."

"So what are you doing?"

"Enjoying the view..."

"At one AM?"

"Yes..."

"Lemme see some ID"

*we hand them our ID's*

"So, you're not up here smoking weed?"

"No, we're not."

"You're 'enjoying the view'?"

"Yes."

*cop returns with ID's*

"(to my friend) You have THE WORST driving record I've ever seen"

"Yep."

"Ok. Well, both you and I know this wasn't just a hang out, but now it's definitely not. So get the fuck out of here."

Well. What I did today was stay up til 5:30 am finishing a design project. It's not even very good.

I know. Luckily he didn't notice the open can of Non Alcoholic beer that I'd been sipping on. Because it still has .05 percent alcohol... and that still qualifies as an "open alcoholic beverage" in a car. Which can get you arrested. Or a ticket.

Cops can be awful... Once a few of my friends and I were sitting at like 11:30pm in the YMCA parking lot and our cars were parked at a tennis court nearby and the dumb lesbian cop drove up and started yelling at us because "THE PARK THAT YOUR CARS ARE PARKED AT CLOSES AT 11:00!!!! DID YOU NOT SEE THE SIGN THAT SAYS IT CLOSES AT 11:00?!" And we were like "ohh. Sorry." And we started walking toward our cars. She followed us in her little cop car the entire way, stops at the park entrance, and points at a sign that's literally like 8 inches tall and wayyyy the heck up this huge street light pole and yells "SEE?! 11:00!" My friend Jeremiah was VERY bold and yelled "WE'RE LEAVING, DUMBASS!" And she left us alone.

today i
walked around so many places just drinking apple cider and enjoying the city
then i made a welcome basket for my new roommate since my roommates and i won't be here when she moves in in january
then i cleaned my apartment
then i went to the waldorf-astoria and met up with some of my parents friends and they took me to this awesome deli
and then had a mini-dance party in my apartment because idk i'm just still excited about last night
then i packed
now it's 3 and i have to leave for my flight at 5am so i might as well just not sleep
plus i'm hanging out with kels and luke and dev
i'm gonna miss my nyc family while i'm in texas!

Went to my final Art History exam, and aced it I'm pretty sure.
Finished my 3D design project during my 3 hour break between classes.
Went to my last 3D class and found out that I got an A+ on my design, a B- on the 4th project (that I was afraid I wasn't going to do so hot on) and an A- on my paper.
Then I found out that I got an A on my Art History paper!

I went to the mall and bought the Dark Knight for my brother for Christmas, and then ate a Chik-fil-A salad with my friend on his work break.

Went to work with major cramps and was pretty miserable for a while.

Got off work and came over to my friend Masha's house, where I am now. We had some tea, smoked a cigarette, ate some bagels, read some from this book she had and then set about planning my 21st birthday party. Now I'm on her computer as she is taking pictures of me.

SCHOOOOOOLS OUT FOR....EVER!


Oh, and, because I didn't tell you all before, I got a part in Tommy. Its just an ensemble part, but it will be a blast. All my friends will be in ensemble with me.

yesterday i:
flew from jfk to austin, texas, and then drove from austin to my town. and then i went to my little sister's band concert and talked to so many people dear lord and then i hung out with clayton!! and also allison! and then i came home early and went to sleep. first good night of sleep in my own wonderful bed in so long.

I've felt ridiculously tired lately. it's 6 and I'm about to go to bed. wonder if I'll sleep till mornin'.

my day was boring, disliking mr. d isn't working, and I'm irritable. gooodnight.

My last day at work today.

I also had a random night in where, for some reason, I watched two movies back to back, both of which starred Mark Ruffalo

drove to bryan and got my hair cut and colored, went to a party with my parents, saw a movie with my sister, and now i'm going to sleep. i drove so much today, it was so gooood.

Woke up and quickly showered and dressed so two Cubans could fix my ceiling
Watched Alien and was a little unsettled by finding Sigouraenh Weaver hot at the end.. i think it's just the way those white briefs were cut more than anything..

and Melissa actually texted me first today which made me exceptionally pleased.

I'm so fucking excited for the 21st, my sister is gonna shit herself when she opens those books. Hopefully literally, because that would make it even more awesome.. but I really wouldn't be surprised if she shed some tears.
